The removal of Confederate windows at National Cathedral was no cause for celebration

The ritual for the removal of the two stained-glass windows at the Washington National Cathedral honoring Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was performed during a Wednesday evening service with a solemnity reserved for the final closing of a church.
